Schullin Wien is a renowned jewellery house based at Kohlmarkt in Vienna’s first district. For three generations, the name Schullin has stood for exceptional jewellery artistry, visionary design and uncompromising craftsmanship, shaped by a distinctive understanding of aesthetics, gemstones and quality.

1888 to 1930: The beginnings

In 1888, Johann Schullin became a watchmaker and opened his first watch workshop.

In the 1930s, his son, Hans Schullin established his own jewellery business in Graz, quickly earning a reputation for quality and trust.

1954: Schullin becomes the first Rolex reseller in Austria

A defining milestone followed in 1954 with the beginning of Schullin’s partnership with Rolex. This collaboration, now the longest-running Rolex partnership in Austria, has established a strong foundation of precision, excellence and continuity that continues to shape the identity of the house.

1975: Herbert Schullin creates Schullin Wien

Herbert Schullin opened the first Vienna boutique at Graben 26, designed by visionary architect Hans Hollein. Conceived as both a jewellery house and an architectural statement, the boutique reflected the belief that jewellery and spatial design share a common language.

A few years later, in 1982, Schullin Wien moved to Kohlmarkt 7, also designed by Hollein and today considered a landmark of Viennese modern architecture. To this day, Schulllin jewellery is sold in this boutique.

80s and 90s: International Awards

Throughout the following decades, Schullin Wien developed into one of Europe’s leading jewellery destinations. International recognition came in 1984 with the De Beers Diamond International Award in Paris for outstanding jewellery design.

In 1991, the house received the Austrian State Prize for jewellery design, followed by international exhibitions and presentations, including at the Grand Palais in Paris.

Schullin’s creative vision has always been closely tied to exceptional gemstones. The acquisition of the first Paraíba tourmaline in 1996 marked the beginning of a new chapter and became a defining signature of the brand.

2018: Oriane Schullin creates My Diamond Ring

Remaining true to its heritage while embracing innovation, Schullin continued to evolve. The launch of My Diamond Ring introduced a contemporary approach to personalised diamond jewellery, bringing bespoke design into a modern, digital context.

In 2019, Oriane Schullin won the Austriacus design price for best online store design.

2024: Schullin opens its Watch boutique in the exclusive Looshaus

The Looshaus, designed by Adolf Loos in 1912, is a symbol of Viennese Modernism. "Schullin Uhren im Looshaus opened in this iconic building in 1990. But since 2024, Schullin has taken over the ground floor and mezzanine and reopened the main doors to Michaelerplatz.
